Week 5 CFB Predictions - RESULTS

bilde_rounded_corners.jpg

After attending the first three Auburn games (and a Georgia Tech game this week), I was ready to be able to sit down, relax, and watch some football games in the comfort of my own house. From noon to two in the morning, it was all football, and some games delivered in hype (UGA-LSU), while some were just flat out pathetic and physically painful to watch (Ole Miss-Alabama).

#21 Ole Miss @ #1 Alabama - Correct

I think Bo Wallace's comments before this game were a little blown out of proportion. "Yeah, I think we can put points on them..." What is a starting quarterback supposed to say? "Oh no, sir...our offense is planning on getting shut-out. No way we can score against the mighty Tide defense". Get over it, Bammers...you won. Enjoy the win.

Prediction: Alabama W 38-24

Actual: Alabama W 25-0

#14 Oklahoma @ #22 Notre Dame  - Correct

Honestly...who cares? Who knew a top 25 matchup would be just so unappealing, especially at this point of the season. Well, if you're wondering, Oklahoma won, as I predicted, and Notre Dame sinks into an even deeper hole this year. Can you believe that this team was in the National Championship just last season?

Prediction: Oklahoma W 23-16

Actual: Oklahoma 35-21

#10 Texas A&M @ Arkansas  - CORRECT!

This game really wasn't even close. I know the score told one story, but that Aggie defense is going to lose them a few games they shouldn't...maybe, just maybe, to a certain team on October 19th. If Arkansas can put up 33 on aTm, just imagine the catastrophic damage Gus is capable of achieving in a few weeks.

Prediction: Texas A&M W 49-28

Actual: Texas A&M W 45-33

#23 Wisconsin @ #4 Ohio State

Well, down the stretch, it certainly looked like Urban Meyer was trying to lose.  Up 31-14 in the third quarter, the game looked well in hand, but Wisconsin ended up having the opportunity to score on one final drive...spoiler alert, they didn't score. According to one of my Ohio State friends, who is surprisingly not obnoxious about his Buckeyes, Urban Meyer apparently thought it would be a marvelous idea if he would call the offensive plays in the second half. You see what you did, Urban? I hope you had fun, coach....now never do it again.

Prediction: Ohio State W 42-31

Actual: Ohio State W 31-24

#6 LSU @ #9 UGA  - Wrong

Alright, alright...let me hear it. Bring it, Dawg fans. Last week, I predicted not only an LSU win, but also an LSU win in Pasadena to end the season. I was wrong, you were right, "Dawgfan". Enjoy this win while you can, because guess what? You're still Georgia fans, and when it comes down to it, your team will find a way to mess it up in the end.

Prediction: LSU W 30-27

Actual: UGA W 44-41
